| GeoPhoenix,
Inc.
Wherever There is a Screen, GeoPhoenix is Inside. GeoPhoenix's co-founders, Adriana Guzman and Julian Orbanes, founded the company in February 2000 with the acquisition of Cognective Inc.’s Infinite Browser™ intellectual property and technology. Orbanes, CTO and co-founder of Cognective, Inc, had directed the team of computer programmers and graphic designers that created the new user interface that defines GeoPhoenix’s technology. Our Vision
Our Mission
Our Team Adriana T. Guzman, CEO and Co-Founder. During her 14 years of entrepreneurial experience, Guzman has actively participated in various roles in the co-founding of four ventures. She also managed the then largest private infrastructure development project in Costa Rica supervising a workforce of 700 people. She has also advised international corporations in partnership development and wireless technology implementation. Guzman is a frequent speaker on the topics of Intellectual Property and Technology. At MIT she led an interdisciplinary project between Engineering and Sloan to develop a forum to bring together Business and Technology for regional economic development. As a result of her vision, several successful wireless and educational projects were implemented. In 1999, Guzman was selected as the “Latin American Young Entrepreneur” in the 7th World Summit of Young Entrepreneurs. She was also a semifinalist at MIT’s 50K Entrepreneurial Competition in 1998. Julian Orbanes, CTO and Co-Founder. Orbanes brings 21 years of programming and entrepreneurial experience to GeoPhoenix, having released his first software product, CopterTM at age 15. His second product, net.Form for net.Genesis, was brought to market when he was 20, and his third product, giFX for Interdimensions, was released when he was 22. His research in improving human-computer interfaces began in 1998 and has been praised by both academics and professionals in the field. He has published two works on his research at MIT’s Media Lab, which included the design and creation of Ping Pong Plus, an interactive ping pong table, and a wired cross country bike trip monitored through wireless technology. In 1998, he was a semifinalist at MIT’s 50K competition. Maximilian Riesenhuber, PhD (Chief Science Officer). Riesenhuber applies his background in artificial intelligence and cognitive neuroscience to optimize the ease-of-use, efficiency, and scalability of GeoPhoenix user interface technology. He is the recipient of a McDonnell-Pew Award in Cognitive Neuroscience (2000) and a Merck/MIT Fellowship in Bioinformatics (1998-2000). He has worked on artificial intelligence projects for companies and universities in Europe, Japan, and the US. His research focuses on how the brain represents and recognizes objects. Riesenhuber received his PhD in computational neuroscience from MIT in 2000. He is also a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Biological and Computational Learning at MIT. Mahesh Bhatia, Director - Strategy & Business Development. Prior to joining GeoPhoenix, Mahesh researched emerging opportunities in the web services and energy tech space for several west coast VC firms. He has also worked as a strategy and organizational consultant and researcher for technology based companies, a project manager at IIT-Madras, a software developer at Fujitsu-ICIM and Mahindra British Telecom, and a hardware developer at an early-stage startup. Mahesh has graduate degrees from Stanford University (Management Science and Engineering) where he was an award-winning teaching assistant, M.I.T. (Technology and Policy), I.I.T.-Madras (Biomedical Engineering), and an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Telecommunications.

"What I find interesting about GeoPhoenix is regardless of the platform, it makes the best use of the available screen real estate. This is certainly going to be important as we move forward in this era of device computing." Chris Shipley
